Rising demand for scanners that combine PET and CT has allowed GE Medical Systems to site 55 Discovery LS units in the first seven months of its commercial availability, according to the company. Florida Hospital became the latest institution to install the product, which uses PET to record increased metabolic activity and CT to provide anatomical references. With seven hospitals and 13 walk-in medical centers, Florida Hospital is one of the largest not-for-profit hospitals in the country.
