Toshiba ships 150,000th ultrasound

There are milestones and then there are milestones. Toshiba Medical Systems is claiming a jim-dandy-the shipment of its 150,000th diagnostic ultrasound system. Contributing to the Tokyo company's achievement are its two latest products: Aplio, an all-digital, high-performance ultrasound system, and Nemio, which offers many of the advanced features of high-end systems in a smaller, highly mobile, all-digital package.

Tumor Margin Marker on Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound May Predict Worse Outcomes in Patients with HCC

For patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), perfusion beyond tumor margin on contrast-enhanced ultrasound that exceeds gray-scale ultrasound tumor measurement by 5 mm is associated with a 76 percent higher risk of worse recurrence-free survival, according to newly published research.
