GE Medical Systems has introduced Advantx LCN+, a biplane neuroangiography system capable of 3-D image reconstruction and image intensifier distortion correction, according to the Milwaukee company. Advantx LCN+ is targeted towards diagnostic and interventional neuro imaging.

With the system, 3-D models are created from images acquired during a digital subtraction angiography study of the frontal plane. GE's Advantage workstation then reconstructs and displays the image data, and users can manipulate the 3-D images using a variety of software tools. The image intensifier distortion correction option, called Advantage Straight, enables users to perform stereotactic radiological procedures without conventional film changers.
