US Diagnostic announced Aug. 4 that it has signed a contract with Comprehensive Medical Imaging (CMI), a subsidiary of Syncor, for the sale of 14 of its medical imaging centers in California and Florida.

“The sale to CMI will move USD down the path of completing the restructuring plan approved by our shareholders at USD’s annual meeting. The proceeds USD will receive upon completion of the sale will be used to reduce debt and bolster USD’s capital resources,” said Joseph A. Paul, president and chief executive officer of USD.

US Diagnostic is a radiology services provider that operates multimodality diagnostic imaging centers and related medical facilities in the U.S. The company has locations in 12 states and owns, operates, or manages 70 fixed-site diagnostic imaging facilities.
