Emphasizing improved quantification, the Kosmos POCUS platform now offers a biometric application for assessing fetal viability, measurements to facilitate evaluation of the uterus and ovaries, and enhanced reporting for vascular exams.

The Kosmos point-of-care ultrasound system (POCUS) now features three FDA-cleared presets that may bolster efficiency with obstetrics, gynecology and vascular ultrasound exams.

New capabilities for the Kosmos POCUS platform (EchoNous) include fetal biometry assessments for the gestational sac and crown-rump length as well as cyst, mass and bladder volume measurements for advanced gynecological exams, according to EchoNous.

The company said the Kosmos POCUS product also facilitates billing efficiencies for carotid, aortic and lower extremity venous exams.

“With this expansion, Kosmos is now more capable than ever, bridging the gap between ultra-portable tools and the robust requirements of specialists," said Matt Wall, VP of Global Marketing at EchoNous. "Whether it is a midwife in a rural clinic needing accurate pregnancy dating or a mobile sonographer performing a full vascular study on the go, we are delivering the specific tools these clinicians need to do their jobs effectively.”
